Busy day today, so I’ve got only two short historical reminders in light of last night’s speech. First, historically one of the most important roles that the Republican party plays in our government is that it asks, “Wait, how are we gonna pay for all this?” So where are those questions today as the party falls all over itself to praise the Putin-Puppet’s speech, one which was filled with many non-Republican policy proposals? Second, no matter how well delivered in a speech, lies and dangerous ideas are still lies and dangerous ideas. In fact, effective delivery of them in a speech only makes them more dangerous. Do we really need a historical reminder of that? If so, here ya go:
